    As new details emerge on its other two Energy Corridor towers, Houston-based Trammell Crow is set to break ground on Energy Center Five in July, which will be designed to accommodate either one large tenant or multiple tenants. Houston-based ConocoPhillips inked the largest prelease of 2013 — 1.2 million square feet in Energy Centers Three and Four developed by Houston-based Trammell Crow Co. with partner PrinREI and designed by Kirksey Architecture.

    The recent rehabilitation of the Sylvan Beach Pavilion, a 1950s contemporary dance hall overlooking Galveston Bay in La Porte, stand out as a noteworthy example of responsible stewardship of the modern architectural heritage in the Houston metropolitan area. Inaugurated in May 1956, the building was designed by the progressive but short-lived Houston architectural firm of Greacen & Brogniez.

    Luxury in Houston is about to get more spacious, causing buyers to quickly pull out their checkbooks. Houston-based Interfin Cos. broke ground last week on its joint venture, a luxury high-rise condominium in Uptown, which features floor plans larger than any other in Houston. It's already 60 percent sold out.

    The Kirksey architecture firm was selected by The Woodlands Development Co. to design these buildings, which will house additional office space for Exxon Mobil Corp. in the Woodlands. The buildings have been designed to LEED Certified specifications.

    Exxon Mobil Corp.'s (NYSE: XOM) massive footprint north of Houston is going to be even larger. The Irving, Texas-based company has leased about 478,000 square feet in Hughes Landing in the Woodlands and plans to move in during the first half of 2016.

    Houston-based ConocoPhillips (NYSE: COP) has preleased the remaining space at Energy Center Four, bringing its total lease for the complex to 1.2 million square feet and prompting the developer to start a fifth building.

    The Houston Area Safety Council will hold a grand opening this week for its new training campus. The ceremony for the facility, at 5213 Center St. in Pasadena, will begin at 3 p.m. on Nov. 13. Houston-based firms Kirksey Architecture and Tellepsen Builders designed and built the facility, respectively.

    The Westchase District’s next office tower topped out this week, and completion is slated for April. Two BriarLake Plaza, at 2050 W. Sam Houston Parkway and Briar Forest Drive, is on track to be a 12-story, 332,000-square-foot tower.
