Kirksey is proud to announce we've added key strategic leadership in our Austin office by welcoming Robert Olvera as Vice President, Director - Central Texas. He brings two decades of design, consultant, and leadership experience to the VP role.

Based out of the firm’s Austin office, Olvera’s methodical approach to design, deep expertise in projects of all scales, and years of team leadership experience will be invaluable as Kirksey continues to expand across the region. The Kirksey office recently underwent a renovation to expand the firm’s footprint at Springdale General to accommodate the significant employee growth they have experienced since opening the office in 2018.

“With his innate understanding of design, thoughtful approach to people leadership, and unique ability to bridge our multiple studios, Robert will be a tremendous asset to our Austin office,” said David Dalton, Executive Vice President and Director - Central Texas. “We’re thrilled to welcome him to the Kirksey Team as we gear up for another exciting year of growth.”

Olvera brings two decades of design and consulting experience to the role. Most recently, Olvera served as a Principal at PDR. During his tenure at the firm, Olvera led several large-scale project teams for a variety of major energy-industry clients, including Cheniere, Oxy, Chevron, Imperial Oil, and EOG Resources.

As a Project Manager, his project approach results in high-performing teams, leading to successful project outcomes and client satisfaction. His specialized expertise in production standards enables him to advise and interact closely with general contractors and clients. He believes that projects with a tightly knit and collaborative team will ultimately benefit everyone involved and ensure the client’s needs are met.

“Moving to Austin and joining Kirksey is an exciting new chapter for me and for my family,” Robert noted, “David Dalton and I are great friends and have known each other since our time at the University of Houston, so I am excited to work with him and to be part of Kirksey’s growth in Central Texas.”

Olvera obtained his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Houston, is registered in seven states including Texas and Oklahoma, and is a LEED and USGBC Accredited Professional.

Kirksey continues to expand its portfolio of diverse projects in Austin and surrounding areas. The firm is currently engaged in several projects, including research and student housing facilities with The University of Texas, schools for Austin ISD, an office tower in The Domain for Hines, affordable housing for Foundation Communities, and other multifamily residential, worship, and corporate interior spaces.
